Yamamoto Strawberry Farm

  • Strawberries

Yamamoto Strawberry Farm is full of exciting areas, including 10 large-scale strawberry greenhouses, a cafe, winery, and a Baumkuchen cake bakery. At 3.2 hectares, this is the Tohoku region’s largest farm. The location is also ideal, as the farm is just a 15-minute walk or three-minute taxi ride from Yamashita Station, and five minutes via car after exiting the highway.

Enjoy the tasty varieties like Tochiotome, Moikko, Benihoppe with strawberry picking. Visitors will be instructed on which greenhouse to go each day and which strawberries types are available. The ripe, bright-red strawberries are unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before! Strawberries are grown on elevated planters, so you can pick them while standing. The greenhouse has passageways suitable for guests with baby strollers and wheelchairs.

Berry Very Labo is a cafe offering desserts and snacks using strawberries from the farm. Enjoy freshly-picked strawberries, jams, sweets, wine, Baumkuchen cake, and other items. Visitors are also invited to view the inside of the factory where the Baumkuchen cakes are baked. There is also a winery that can be toured. Inside, guests will learn about how strawberry wine is made and the progress that has been made since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

This is a farm with so much more than just strawberry picking. Come and experience the fun of Yamamoto Strawberry Farm for yourself!
